Programs K-8

Elementary Programs
The location, type, and variety of elementary school programs in the Lammersville Unified School District change to accommodate shifts in the population and needs of the students we serve.  Since services are not available at every campus, students with special needs may be placed at campuses other than their neighborhood school.  Outline below are descriptions of the programs available for children with exception needs.

Resource Specialist Program
Students attend neighborhood schools and are included fully in regular education classrooms. Resource Specialist Teacher may provide services in the classroom or in a small group outside the classroom.  There is resource support at every school site in LUSD.

Special Day Class Non Severely Handicapped (SDC M/M)
Each special day class (SDC) has students with mild to moderate special needs, a special education teacher, and at least one special education paraprofessional. Mainstreaming opportunities are determined and designed by the student’s IEP Team.  Schools that offer SDC programs are Wicklund Elementary School for grades K-6 and Questa Elementary School for grades 7-8.

Speech and Language Services
Speech and Language Therapy is a service provided at all six Lammersville USD schools.  Speech and Language Therapy can be offered in a small group, individual, or in the general education classroom.  The IEP team determines and designs the type of speech and language services the student will need.
