Mountain House High School is considered an inclusive school because special education teachers co-teach with general education teachers subjects such as: Math, English, and Science. Students requiring more intensive support are assigned to a learning lab where they receive additional specialized academic instruction. All students on Individual Education Plans (IEP) are monitored closely by a case manager to ensure student success.
Special Day Class
Mountain House High School has two special day classes. In this special day class, the teacher provides instruction most of the academic subjects. The special education provides instruction in core curriculum. This program offers specialized academic instruction and core curriculum is at a slower pace and all students are on a diploma track. Mainstreaming opportunities are determined and designed by the student’s IEP Team.
Mountain House High School also houses a special day class non-severely handicapped that serves moderate students. This special day class may provide a full day program to meet students' intense learning needs. Students in this program are on a certificate of completion track. In this special day class, the special education teacher provides instruction in most of the academic subjects and life skills. Mainstreaming opportunities are determined and designed by the student’s IEP Team.
